“Healthy Sexuality: How do we and who gets to define it?”
We are continually bombarded by sexual messages from news reports, music, film, art, religious institutions, billboards, magazines, politics and so forth. So much information exists around sexuality – much of it conflicting, even amongst professionals. From “sex addiction” to “open marriage” – the spectrum is wide and often difficult to navigate. Especially when most of us come from a generally Judeo-Christian culture that has its own footprint on sexual mores and traditions. This presentation will focus on beginning a conversation that can address common myths and misperceptions as well as taking back the personal authority and permission we all need to define healthy sexuality within the parameters of our individual and partnered selves.

About our speaker:
Natasha Helfer Parker, LCMFT, CST is a Certified Sex Therapist and Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. She has been in practice for almost 20 years, primarily working within the Mormon Community. She authors the blog called The Mormon Therapist and hosts the podcasts Mormon Mental Health and Mormon Sex Info. She currently serves as the president of the Mormon Mental Health Association and president of the KS division for the American Association for Marriage & Family Therapy. One of her primary goals is to advocate for sexual health and healing where religious authority/culture/tradition has either harmed or limited sexual growth and expression.
