MASKS ARE REQUIRED.
*Note: It’s okay if you can’t get there until 5:15-5:30.
At Kansas City Oasis our values are “People are more important than beliefs,” “human hands solve human problems,” and “meaning comes from making a difference.” In that spirit, we partner with Micah Ministry to help feed and clothe those in need.
Micah Ministry serves hundreds of people every Monday evening from 5:15-7:15. They help anyone, regardless of race, gender, religious (or nonreligious) affiliation, sex, sexual orientation, or any other trait. Come join us in helping our less fortunate neighbors.
Volunteers will greet the guests, serve food, offer beverages, fill clothing requests and help with litter control. If there are enough volunteers, there may be the option to sort clothing.
The Micah Ministry is a religious organization, which means that the event is started by an optional group prayer at the beginning. We have never been pressured to pray with them and they have always been glad to have us participate in their group.
Due to COVID, masks are required, and the event is currently being held outside instead of in the dining hall.
Please meet in the parking lot behind the church, where we will get our volunteer assignments.
By participating in this event, you agree to abide by the Oasis Code of Conduct (http://www.kcoasis.org/about-oasis/code-of-conduct/).
