Judy received her BSN from Webster University and her BA and MBA from Baker University. She is a 20-year veteran of the Army Nurse Corp, serving from 1989 to 2009. Surprise – she was 46 when she joined the Army and 66 when she retired as a lieutenant colonel! How did she get in at 46, you ask? They needed nurses with her qualifications and experience.
Judy had 25 years of nursing experience when she joined the Army and, wanting to try something new, she joined supply. She taught people how to drive 5-ton and deuce-and-a-half trucks, buses, forklifts, Hummers and ambulances. (She always wished they had tanks, so she could drive one.)
Her service with the Army took her all over the world, from most U.S. bases to Germany and Iraq.
In her retirement, Judy continues to volunteer with many organizations, her favorite being Heart to Heart International, which was started by the Commander of her military unit. She has had the privilege of going to Haiti with them three times, for a total of four months.
